How To Make Better Grades and Have More Fun

I'm a second year student at the University of Chicago. Before I came to college, I was incredibly fortunate to have met Prof. Mellichamp and listened to his talk on "How to Make Better Grades and Have More Fun." Following his advice, I have been able to make a perfect GPA from the first quarter. The key of the talk is to find balance in study, socializing, and other activities. Chicago is known for its strict and intense academics. At first I thought the method was too easy to work or might not be applicable at Chicago. However, upon experimenting for the first few weeks, I was very much impressed by how easily I handled the school work and social activities. I even shared the talk with my housemates who are using the principles. I'm glad Prof. Mellichamp is sharing his experience with more students. I highly recommend this lecture to any student in any college who is searching for a better way of studying. And as Prof. Mellichamp said to me before I went to college: "always try to make A's."

I gave my daughter Dr. Mellichamp's CD and she is now completing a very successful first year in the Honors College at the University of Georgia. It definitely facilitated her transition from high school to university life. I wish I had known about Professor Mellichamp's tenets when I was in college. I believe it is apropos for high school students as well, especially if they have trouble with time management.

Mere Christianity: Discussion and Study Guide for the Book by C. S. Lewis

Dr. Mellichamp combines his deep understanding of Christianity with his many years of teaching experience to write a study guide that is a great companion to the C.S. Lewis classic. The guide is keyed to the classic format, and each classic chapter is outlined and summarized with supplemental comments. The questions at the end of each guide chapter encourage further study or additional research. The questions should provoke good discussions in group studies. We have been using the guide in our self study, and we have found that the guide amplifies the foundations of this great classic. We also feel we have gained a fuller understanding. Whether you are a seeker or a mature Christian, this guide will help you in your spiritual walk and studies. We highly recommend it.
